When your trailer wanders or bounces too much, a solid axle rebuild brings back stability. This 6,000-lb trailer axle measures 89" from hub face to hub face and 74" from spring center to spring center for confident, straight-line tracking. The round, high-strength steel beam has a slight bend that evens out tire contact for steady acceleration and smooth towing without the sway or hop that wears you out on long hauls.
Keeping bearings lubricated doesn’t have to be a chore. The straight Easy Grease spindles include built-in grease zerks that make maintenance simple—no messy disassembly or repacking. Each spindle is welded using a patented process that’s 40% stronger than standard, so the connection stays secure mile after mile. The pre-greased hubs come ready with bearings, races, seals, and lug nuts already installed for quick, clean setup.

This axle comes with mounted electric brake assemblies, hubs, and drums for dependable stopping power without the complexity of hydraulic lines or actuators. The brakes include adjuster plugs, mounting bolts, and hardware, and are certified by CSA, QAI, and SAE-N for proven braking performance under real-world conditions. The 12-15/16" diameter x 2-3/8" wide drums pair with a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern to fit 14-1/2" to 16-1/2" wheels.
Heavy lifting gets easier when your trailer sits lower. The underslung design has spring seats welded to the underside of the axle so the leaf springs (sold separately) mount below it. That setup drops the deck height just enough for quicker loading and unloading while keeping the frame stable. With a 3" diameter axle tube and durable cast-iron hubs, it’s built to handle the miles without flexing under pressure.
Every component is designed for durability and safety. The axle, hubs, and integrated parts meet CSA, QAI, and SAE-N standards and include a limited lifetime warranty. Bearing sizes—25580 inner and 15123 outer—match common 6,000-lb setups, while the GS2250DL grease seal (2.25" ID, 3.376" OD) keeps lubricant in and grit out. It’s a straightforward, heavy-duty solution for anyone ready to upgrade their suspension and hit the road with confidence.

Fit perfect easy install
Happy with the product, not happy that we paid for a fully dressed axle and it came in parts for us to put together.
Went together well, perfect replacement. Be sure to measure from spring centers (80" on the nose) and hub faces (95" on the nose). I was suprised when this shipped UPS. I didn't know they would handle something this large/heavy. 3 boxes and the axle. One box has the electric brakes. One box each for the hubs (pregreased). Came with castle nuts, washers and cotter pins and nylocks for the ebrakes. One end of axle was just wraped in plastic and plastic was ripped around circumference of spundle end but threads and zirk were intact. On the other end of the axle it was protected with a rubber boot under the plastic wrap and threads were ok but zirk had been snapped off. Used an easy-out to extract the rest of the zirk out of the axle and replaced with a new one. Zirks are 1/4" - 28tpi. I have no idea what the manufacturer of my trailer is other than Joe Schmoe farmer LOL. But it has two 6 bolt hub axles made in china just like this one and the measurements matched. On one axle the brakes failed, then bearing failed, then hub and wheel sailed off and there was too much damage to the spindle and threads. The spindle can be replaced but chose to get this axle for quick and easy turn around. I then shot both hubs full of grease with an air operated grease gun which took about two tubes of grease. The bearings come prepacked with the blue marine synthetic grease, I shot the hubs with red GLCI 2 once hubs were mounted on the axle and grease cups mounted. Their are two grease cups for each hub, one with removable rubber center disk and one without - you choose. Other related info: Spring bolts were 9/16"-18tpi x 3", I had to snap two off so replaced all four for this axle with grade 5 bolts and nuts and used split ring lock washers. Shackles I bought from here did not come with lock washers so I put 1/2" split ring lock washers under the shackle nuts. Extra hardware all came from McMaster Carr. I did cheat and used a tractor with bucket mounted hitch to lift and lower the trailer tongue :). It was more of a pain to remove the old axle than install this new one, took a couple hours, I am in my 60's. So not bad at all. I have not used the trailer with this new front axle as yet but I have no qualms about doing so. I have noticed the front of dual axles always seems to take a disproportionate more amount of the load no matter what the tongue height or accurate the tire pressure. Just as good an axle as the original.
Everything I needed came. Already on and working good. Will buy again if needed!!!
Ordered them using my original axel tags, had to have them modified to be mounted correctly and rerun the break wires to fit properly. Not sure if my trailer manufacturer modified the original axels to fit but spent quite a bit to make them work.
This is a big improvement on my existing 3500# axle. I like that the y routed the brake wires through the tube rather than on the outside.
There was no castle nut kit included.
I had to source the parts from another vender to complete the job. Very disappointed
I didn’t think to clarify, I expected this to be shipped as one ready to install assembly. What I received was multiple shipment and not quite all the parts. Customer service quickly resolved the missing items and assembly and install wasn’t terribly difficult so I’m not knocking the product. It is what I was sold.
Awesome axle the spring brackets where wrong from the description but moved and rewelded to fit with zero problems would definitely buy from this company again
Awful service. Ordered an axle they sent a hitch. Cancelled order cause they weren’t going send axle out till they picked up the hitch lol. They still haven’t picked up and won’t refund money till ups picks up. Look around I found an axle place close by 30 minutes away with axles in stock. I will never use etrailer again!!!!!
The axle and spring seat are doing well after a year. Even with my shade-tree mechanic welding abilities and thousands of grueling miles thru some of the roughest highways in North America (namely West Virginia) both are holding up to the task.
While the axle and components were a good value, the condition of the brakes when I received them was poor. Several internal components were either out of position or had come loose (during shipping?) In any event, I ended up having to rebuild the brake hardware to get it to function properly. I will also add, that shipping this "bundle" with manually adjustable brakes is unfortunate as the drop axle makes accessing the adjustment star very difficult. Fortunately for me, I had assembled the axle assembly prior to installation. While challenging to do the initial brake shoe adjustment while up on sawhorses in my garage, at least I wasn't under the trailer trying to do it. As I am not the only person voicing this concern, I feel confident in saying that I wish eTrailer could come up with a design that doesn't have this issue.
The axle and brakes were a perfect fit. All of the parts I needed were included and installation was straight forward. I could not be happier.
I ordered two axles to upgrade my trailer capacity to what the frame is rated for, 12,000lbs. The axles have great bearing seats and backing plate studs. The backing plates are fully assembled and ready to connect to the wires already installed into the axle tubes. The hub assembly went smooth and only one set of break shoes needed adjustment. A good buy along with the 5 fully assembled tires and wheels.
Buying the kit complete was a good decision. It showed up early than predicted and having the grease and wires already in place shows your professionalism. I would recommend this product and company to everyone in the market.
I put a lot of miles on it
working g reat
straight forward installation, my trailer pulls better than it ever has before and stops much easier with the new brakes as well.
Delivered as described, earlier than expected, less costly than others with free shipping!
Careful measurements and the axle bolted right up.
Fully greased hubs with seals and bearings installed made assembly quick and easy.
Waiting on new tires for the trailer and will road test soon.
Couldn’t be happier with this purchase from Etrailer!

Nothing like the peace of mind that new brakes bring! What are you towing?
