I ordered two axles to upgrade my trailer capacity to what the frame is rated for, 12,000lbs. The axles have great bearing seats and backing plate studs. The backing plates are fully assembled and ready to connect to the wires already installed into the axle tubes. The hub assembly went smooth and only one set of break shoes needed adjustment. A good buy along with the 5 fully assembled tires and wheels.

1 Year in and still going strong. These axles carry a Kubota KX033 excavator with extra buckets, hydraulic concrete breaker hundreds of miles each week.

Axle overall looks fine packaging needs improvement. Was missing 2 backing plate studs and one end of the axle was missing the rubber sleeve so the threads were damaged

I didn’t think to clarify, I expected this to be shipped as one ready to install assembly. What I received was multiple shipment and not quite all the parts. Customer service quickly resolved the missing items and assembly and install wasn’t terribly difficult so I’m not knocking the product. It is what I was sold.

The axle and spring seat are doing well after a year. Even with my shade-tree mechanic welding abilities and thousands of grueling miles thru some of the roughest highways in North America (namely West Virginia) both are holding up to the task.

While the axle and components were a good value, the condition of the brakes when I received them was poor. Several internal components were either out of position or had come loose (during shipping?) In any event, I ended up having to rebuild the brake hardware to get it to function properly. I will also add, that shipping this "bundle" with manually adjustable brakes is unfortunate as the drop axle makes accessing the adjustment star very difficult. Fortunately for me, I had assembled the axle assembly prior to installation. While challenging to do the initial brake shoe adjustment while up on sawhorses in my garage, at least I wasn't under the trailer trying to do it. As I am not the only person voicing this concern, I feel confident in saying that I wish eTrailer could come up with a design that doesn't have this issue.

Awful service. Ordered an axle they sent a hitch. Cancelled order cause they weren’t going send axle out till they picked up the hitch lol. They still haven’t picked up and won’t refund money till ups picks up. Look around I found an axle place close by 30 minutes away with axles in stock. I will never use etrailer again!!!!!

I had to source the parts from another vender to complete the job. Very disappointed

Ordered them using my original axel tags, had to have them modified to be mounted correctly and rerun the break wires to fit properly. Not sure if my trailer manufacturer modified the original axels to fit but spent quite a bit to make them work.

This is a big improvement on my existing 3500# axle. I like that the y routed the brake wires through the tube rather than on the outside.

I used these axles to upgrade my travel trailer suspension.they Seem to be a good quality item. Good paint job on the axles. Compared to axles that came with the travel trailer. Which helps living on the coast.

We don't have any axles with a 68.5" spring seat so you'll need to have a welder install two of the Spring Seats item # TRSS300 per axle to attach the axle to your suspension.   • Can Electric Brake Assemblies Be Used On A Boat Trailer
    Hello Rob. The hubs and brakes on the # e65SR can be used on a boat trailer. That said, it is no secret that electricity and water do not mix, so generally, surge brakes are recommended for boat trailers. Electric brakes can still be used, just make sure you unplug the trailer before you submerge it. If you are in salt water, it will help a lot to rinse the hubs and stuff with fresh water to help slow the corrosion.

    Hello Rob, thanks for getting in touch. There is not going to be enough room on the 89" hub face axle # e65SR to move the spring seats out to 76". That would have the spring seat literally right up against the backing plate and there would be no room for hardware, so this would not work. You can see in the picture below, the spring seats are about 2" wide, so moving that center any farther outboard will be way too tight.     When choosing a replacement axle you want one that is the same length. Since you have a hub face measurement of 86.51" a better choice would be an 86-1/2" axle. The # e65SR is an 89" axle so it is several inches longer. Also, you don't need a 6k axle, a 5,200 lb axle is fine. You can use a 6k axle but you need to keep in mind that this will not increase the capacity of your trailer. For an axle that is equivalent to the # e65SR I recommend the # e73SR, or if you just need the axle itself...

    On an axle like the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 35545E-ST-89 the maximum overall overhang(hub face to spring center distance) is 18" total. That will put your current axle 2" past the maximum with having an 89" hub face and 69" spring center. A 5,200lb Axle # e75SR will only allow for a 19" overall overhang, so you will need to move to a 6,000lb Axle # e65SR as it allows for a 20" overall overhang.     Hi Ron, So unfortunately mobile home axles can't be changed out to to different hubs and brakes as they are designed as a single-use axle (getting the mobile home from point A to point B).
