Adjusting and Fine Tuning the Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller

Question:

The directions have two adjustments. First, turn power control to full power then push brake pedal and adjust with other control until orange color on light. The other said put power control in 12 oclock position and push the brake lever on the controller while driving until the brakes dont lock. So, do you leave the controller on max power or in 12 oclock position. Just confusing because it said to not use power dial for fine tuning.

The Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller, part # 39510 has a three step process for dialing in the braking power. First, you'll level the device using the level dial on the left side of the controller. Then, you will use some actual stops and the power dial on the right side to find the specific brake power. Finally, you'll use the left level dial to finalize the power and fine tune the level setting.

You're correct in that you don't want to adjust the power dial after you've adjusted it during the setup process, because it significantly changes the braking behavior of your trailer. If you have to make adjustments while towing, you'll want to use the manual slide knob to temporarily increase the braking power.

I've included the directions for all three of these steps separated out below so you have them for reference. The way that they're presented in the instructions is a little confusing.
