I recommend the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness with Install Kit # 119250KIT. nIt is the correct fit for your 2013 BMW X5 and will install with a new technology that does not require splicing into your BMW's wiring. I've attached a video of this installation on a 2013 model to assist.
This can be used with the # ETBC7 Kit to add a 7-way and have you wire the 12V connection. Your vehicle will not utilize the brake output connection, as the Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Brake Controller # TK94FR is the only confirmed fit. I've attached a video and installation details to assist. This combination will allow you to safely tow your camper with your BMW X5.
Let me know if you have further questions.
