Flat towing a vehicle is always subject to the okay of the auto maker and the best place to check this is in the owner's manual (or with your local dealership which can see the car's specific factory-installed equipment by looking up its VIN). Page 4-26 of the online edition of the owner's manual indicates that one version of the car cannot be flat towed, that version being the 3.9L V6 engine with the four-speed automatic transmission. Since you have the 3.5L you can flat tow the car but not above 65-mph.
Just the same, I recommend checking in your printed manual and/or confirming with your local dealership before towing the car wheels down. You will also want to review the manual for the necessary preparation steps to flat tow the car; in the online version these steps appear on pages 4-26 and 4-27.
Let's start with base plates. I suggest Blue Ox kit # BX3231 because its removable draw bars are the twist-lock type without pins that can get lost. You can use their excellent Alpha motorhome-mount tow bar # BX7380 which includes the required safety cables. I recommend Blue Ox over Roadmaster since our installers have found their products often tend to be cleaner and easier installs that require a little less labor time.
You also need a wiring/lighting solution and all options for the G6 are shown on the linked page. I also included an article that will help you decide which you prefer to install. The low-cost/easy-install route is magnetic lights like # TL21RK.
For a braking system I recommend the portable Patriot braking system # BLU37TR and power outlet kit # RM-9332. You will be easily able to move this braking system to your next towed car unlike permanent install systems that are non-transferable to a new vehicle.
You will also need a high/low hitch adapter like # RM-076 or one of the other such items shown on the linked page. One of these will allow the connected tow bar to be level with the ground, which is important to good performance. An article is included to help you select the correct one.
Also, a general article on flat towing is linked too to give you a thorough overview.
