Question:

Hi Experts, I have a 2011 Honda Element and I need to know the following: when the PortablePet stand is fully extended, does it clear the claimshell shape tailgate?

I went out and measured the PortablePET Twistep, part # HE3052. I've included a diagram that details the measurements from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back plate of the swivel, which will always be the closest part. The closer of the two holes is 4-1/4 inches away and the further back is 5-3/4 inches.

From our test videos, the distance should be right around 3 inches, meaning that the step should work, and I recommend using the rear pin hole for better positioning in relation to your bumper.

The Twistep is designed to locate itself back under your vehicle's hitch, and will clear regardless of what hitch its installed on.

A hitch pin isn't included, so I recommend adding the Advantage Threaded Hitch Pin, part # HE6033 for a quick, easy hitch pin solution with an integrated lock.
