Adam: Hi everyone, Adam with etrailer.com. Today We're going to be taking a look at the Car hitch mounted step. These do come in many different variety of colors. As you see here, we do have black, it does come in a reflector red, or reflector white. There is an American flag one, which is definitely my pick, but we have plenty of other different types of logos, so go on etrailer.com and check them out. So our color or logo is going to be visible when it's flipped up like so, but we can flip this down, and it is going to have a very grippy surface, and it is made of steel with a nice powder coated finish, so it's going to last a long time, always look good, and it will get you that 650 pounds of weight capacity.So what I've noticed with owning a pickup, a lot of the times, it's kind of awkward to get up into our tailgate.
It's hard on our knees, our back, and our hands. I do see this being a lot easier as you can just basically step on the step, and get into your be like so. It's going to be easier on you and just make you be able to do whatever you need to do a lot easier. So this is going to work really well with our SUV's, even if we have a spare tire here, we can step on the step, and we can go ahead and load and unload our roof rack a lot easier.So the step is going to take care of your truck as well. Instead of using the bumper and scratching all this plastic, it is going to provide a lot more grip as well.
This plastic very, very smooth, and it's going to scratch a little bit more often than our steel down here. On top of that, if you have a pretty license plate, you're not going to have to worry about scratching it up whenever you have any sort of work boots on or anything like that. So yes, this is a rather smaller step than some of the other options we carry at etrailer.com, but it definitely has a more lower profile looks good, and even when it's out, or folded up, it's going to give you a lot more unintrusive look.So when comparing this fold-up step to the larger mega step, that car offers, it is going to have about 150 pounds more weight capacity, but we are going to lose a lot of surface area. In this instance, we are only going to have about five inches long by two and a half inches wide, and it is going to stick out from our hitch receiver about five inches. And when we fold this up, it is only going to stick out about two inches.
So the step does not come with a pin and clip. I just have a basic one right here, but it is a rather attractive step. So if you don't want it to run off whenever you're in the store or whatever it may be, you can grab a locking hitch pin here at etrailer.com. One thing to note, be sure to check what size hitch you have. This will be available for only the two-inch hitch receivers.So whether you're using this on a pickup truck, or even just a taller SUV to load some of your stuff onto your cargo carrier, regardless of what it is, it's definitely going to get the job done all while making your ride look a little bit cooler.

this is a heavy duty Hitch great quality item. wish i had it long ago. i love the fact that it closes up so you don't hit your leg on it. highly recommend !!!
Very sturdy. High use install due to kids playing in the truck box often. Every couple of months throw a small amount of grease or lube on it and should last for a very long time. Highly recommend for kids and adults.
Looks great, works great. The step is very sturdy and the action of opening/ closing the step is perfectly stiff. It won’t flop down while you’re driving. It’s a fashionable and functional hitch for my Jeep. I can get up to the roof, into the back or even use it to get my golf shoes on and off.
Understated, sophisticated, useful, a piece of gear you did not know you needed, but once you have it, you cannot envision not having it. And...no bruised or bloodied shins.
The hitch step is just what I was looking for, to help me get in and out of the back of my truck.
Fits good and works good, definitely would recommend a receiver lock so no one walks off with it
The product is exactly what I wanted - good quality and as described. Buyers be advised that it took 15 days to receive - and not due to etrailer. The manufacturer only produced it when I ordered it, so if you want it quickly you'd better plan ahead. As always etrailer.com is the best.
This is a good quality hitch step! I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but the build quality seems excellent and supports my weight with no problem. Also, received the step very quickly!
Great product, but needs to be mounted with an anti-rattle device or locking pin.
Hitch is great. Holes didn't work for my setup, as I wanted it in as tightly as possible for no rattle, but was able to drill a hole in front of the existing holes. Step has a nice action. Thing feels solid, especially if you crack your shin on it!
The trailer hitch fold down step for my 4 runner is great,
It covers up the ugly hole in my trailer hitch, allows easy access to load my roof rack, and if someone rear ends me at low speed at a light it will likely save my bumper. Fits good, Looks good, works good.
I have owned this trailer hitch step for a year. I have used it multiple times a day for one full year, and it still works like the day I put it on. No rust, no malfunction, no complaints from me.
exactly what it claims to be step is a little bit small but serves the purpose high quality product worth the price . makes getting in to the bed of truck easier than the bumper steps 2016 Silverado also keeps hitch receiver clean and looks GREAT love it

I was looking for a sturdy, low profile, hitch step to easily get into and out of my 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport. I could tell by the weight of the packaging, that this was what I was looking for. Set it up in 2 minutes with a hitch pin lock. Perfect for getting my fat arse into and out of my truck.
I have a ski box on the roof of my car. This makes is so easy to use the box to open, close, load and unload skis and then it's completely out of the way when not in use. Perfect for what I needed. Also, it's solid and, after a year, showing no signs of rust.

Product is working great I use it almost daily. I put my foot up on there to put on a set of knee pads several times a day some days just makes it easier and also to get up and wash the top of my sport utility that’s what it’s on sport utility so it works Perfect both ways
I needed a small step that could also protect the bumper and it's perfect. Feels very solid despite its size. Good communication from Etrailer regarding delivery.
Perfect for my new F150 pro access tailgate. Much better than permanent mount. Very heavy duty and well made. I highly recommend!
Excellent product! Installed on my Ranch Hand bumper 2” receiver hitch. Makes it easy to check engine fluids.
This step is the best thing since sliced bread!! Sturdy, fits very well in receiver, and when folded, only projects one inch from the bumper.
With my side-swinging tail gate, and a short paracord dog collar (looped around a bed tie down) it is effortless to get inside the truck bed. Hooray.
Nice hitch step with a small profile. I do wish the holes were better placed for the Draw-tite hitch. It sticks out about 1inch more than it needs to in the receiver. Very secure to step on, non slip surface. It makes it easier to reach the car top.
This receiver folding step is robust and well made. It is also stealthy and hardly noticeable to leave in place for access into the back of my 4runner.

After a year of almost daily use this hitch step has held up perfectly. The finish on it still looks new despite living near the ocean and and being exposed to sand and salt water. This step has served us well and will be purchasing one for our other Jeep. Thank you!
