Question:

Is it possible to use this with dual hitch to permanently mount the Twistep and a ball hitch? I transport dogs regularly/daily, but weekly tow a trailer. I like to leave the ball hitch attached, and using the twistep would also be handy.

Yes, you can use a multipurpose ball mount, like the Curt # D210, to tow a trailer weekly and keep the PortablePET Twistep Hitch Mounted Step # HE3052 permanently installed.

I am attaching a link to our selection of ball mounts that you can filter through to find one that has the correct rise/drop for your towing application (see attached helpful article). Keep in mind that some adapters will reduce the Tongue Weight (TW) of your trailer hitch by 50%. The ones that do this have a note listed on their product page.

The step does come with a threaded hitch pin, but to keep it a little more secure I recommend using the Advantage Threaded Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # HE6033 to secure it to your adapter.

If your adapter has a hollow shank then I also recommend that you install the Trailer Hitch Accessories Lock # e98897 to secure your adapter into your hitch receiver.
