Where is Gooseneck Hitch Ball Location for Curt Double Lock # C615-632 on a 2008 Silverado 6-1/2 Bed
Published 12/19/2017 >
Question:
Im installing a Curt double-locking gooseneck hitch. Having trouble finding the distance from the edge of the bed to the hitch Center period for my six and a half foot regular bed 2008 Chevy pick up. I understand short beds are 44 3/4 and long beds 49 something. I dont care about them I just care about a regular pickup bed. The dimension from the end of the bed the center of the hitch.

If you look at the first page of the linked "alternate" installation instructions for the Curt Double Lock, Flip and Store Underbed Gooseneck Hitch w/ Installation Kit # C615-632 you will see that it has a few different bed length options. Since your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado has a 6-1/2 foot bed you will want to look at the measurement for the 78.80 inch bed installation.
If you measure from the back of the truck box (not the tailgate) then you will want to measure 42-7/16 inches towards your cab. Once you mark that location you will then want to make sure you are in the center of the wheel wells. This will give you the correct location for drilling the 4 inch hole for the gooseneck hitch ball.
I have attached a sample installation video for you to reference.
