Comparing Pacbrake Air Bags To Air Lift And Firestone

Updated 09/26/2025 | Published 04/30/2025

Question:

Ive heard these are decent and quality/feature-wise, theyd fall somewhere in the middle between AirLift and Firestone. Is that what youd say as well? Thanks for your help!

Hello Graham, thanks for reaching out. So far I have been pretty impressed with the PacBrake air bags. I would say they are in line with the quality of the Air Lift air bags. They use similar top plates. Pretty much everything about the design of their bags is equivalent to Air Lift.

Personally I still prefer the Firestone air bags since they use a rolled crimp-sealed top plate which is way more robust than the Air Lift or Pacbrake. Also the brackets that come with the Firestone kits tend to be a bit more custom. Like they offer a much wider variety of upper and lower bracket combinations. The Air Lift brackets are a bit more "universal" so they can take a bit more work to assemble and the fit can be a bit more "crude".

The Pacbrakes are typically a bit more affordable than others, but its not that big of a price difference generally.

Have you used an air bag kit in the past? What kind of truck are you looking to put these on.

Hey Graham, did you have a chance to decide on which air bag kit to go with for your truck? I'm curious to know if the PacBrake air bags met your needs or if you went with another option. Your feedback could really help others in a similar situation!
