Question:
where do I get the stabilizing straps necessary to support a bike rack?
asked by: Mark H
Expert Reply:
The strap you will need is the CURT bike rack strap with cambuckle, part # 18050.
CURT requires using a stabilizing strap with any hitch mounted bike rack or hitch accessories. The strap acts as a precaution to reduce jarring and torque applied to the hitch from the weight of the bike rack and bicycles.
Since the CURT hitch # 11510 is a Class I model, you will need to make sure your bike rack is compatible with Class I hitches. You will also be limited to carrying 2 bikes.
