Recommended 3-Ball Tow and Stow Compatible with Custom Bumper

Question:

I have a custom bumper with integrated 2inch receiver hitch. This bumper requires at least 5-1/4” of unobstructed shank from pin hole to ball mount platform or any gussets. This is to allow it to pass through the 4” pipe and be pinned on the back side of the bumper. I would I would like to get a BandW triball tow and stow, but when I tried to get one at my local shop they said they didnt have one available that would fit. Can you help?

We do have the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5.5" Rise - 10K - Browning # BWTS10048BB which has a pin hole farthest from mounting block dimension of 5-5/8 inches. Another option with the same depth measurement is the # BWTS10047BB which has a 3 inch drop. These are the only B&W hitches that have the 3-Ball option that will fit your bumper.

I recommend the hitch lock # BWTS51234 to secure your investment.

Question:

Thanks. Would the Pro Series Adjustable 3-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches also be an option?

Expert Reply:

The Pro Series Adjustable 3-Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 4-3/4" Drop, 5-11/16" Rise - 14K # 63070 would absolutely work as well. The distance from center of hitch pin hole to center of hitch ball is 11-5/8 inches and from center of hitch pin hole to center of adjustment holes is 7-3/4 inches. This will give you even more clearance with your custom bumper. This ball mount also has the ability to stow the 3 hitch balls behind the shank.

Question:

I also need a lock for the pro series hitch. Can you recommend one?

Expert Reply:

For your Pro Series Hitch # 63070, I recommend the Draw-Tite Lock Set for Pro Series Adjustable Ball Mounts for 2" Hitches # 63069. This will give you a hitch pin lock and an adjustment pin lock. This will secure the shank to your trailer hitch receiver and also the ball platform to the shank.

Question:

Thanks. Do you have a lock set like the one mentioned, but that works with my ford key, so i don't have to carry an additional key with me? Something like the BOLT series?

The Bolt locks are great for allowing you to use your factory ignition key. I recommend the BOLT Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" and 2-1/2" Hitches - Codes to Ford Side-Cut Key # BL7023585 for your application. Remember that this lock will code to the first Ford Key used and cannot be changed after that initial coding.
