How Far Does the Dexter Hub # 84556UC3 Center Bore Extend From the Mounting Face of Hub?

Question:

Thanks. I'm looking for an axle with electric brakes 57" long from hub face-to-hub face....would that be a 57" axle or some other length when taking into account the thickness of the hubs? Also, would the above setup be available with a mechanical handle brake (parking brake)? Thanks

I went out to the warehouse to measure the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 3,500-lb Axles - 5 on 5 # 84556UC3 and the center bore will stick out 1-3/4 inches from the hub face and the dust cap will add 7/8 inch.

These hubs will work well on the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with EZ-Lube Spindles - 89" Long - 3,500 lbs # T3584F-EZ-8974. For your brake assemblies, I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA if you will be using electric brakes or the Hydraulic Trailer Brake Kit - Uni-Servo - Free Backing - 10" - Left/Right Hand - 3,500 lbs # AKFBBRK-35 for hydraulic brakes.

For that axle length, there isn't a through axle I can offer that fits, but I do have a solution. The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - Straight Spindle Only - 3,500 lbs # ASR3500S05 will allow you to simply mount to the trailer frame and add a 2 inch square tube cut to length into the integrated holes. This will also replace any suspension you have. These spindles will work very well with the hubs # 84556UC3 we previously referenced. For brake assemblies with a parking brake, I recommend the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Assembly w/ Parking Brake - 10" - Left Hand - 3,500 lbs # K23-086-00 and right hand # K23-087-00. These assemblies will allow you to use the Titan Breakaway and Parking Kit for Drum Brakes # T2385200.
