Question:
I have a 2001 Dodge Durango. I just installed your class three hitch and want to add the wiring. How do I know if I have a factory installed harness. Where should I look?

If your 2001 Dodge Durango does not have a 7-Way connector located at the rear of the vehicle, then it is not equipped with the factory tow package. This connector should be fairly visible and the spring-loaded cover will have "Mopar" printed on it. The tow package would have most likely also included a trailer hitch, so if you needed to install one, this is another indication that the vehicle does not have the factory tow package.
To be absolutely sure, you can always visit your local Dodge dealer with your VIN and they will be able to tell you exactly what your vehicle is equipped with.
If your Durango does not have the tow package, I recommend using the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118334. This custom harness will connect directly to the built-in ports located behind the driver and passenger side tail lights. Once installed, you will have a 4-Way connector at the rear of your Durango to connect with and power your trailer's signal lights.
I have attached an installation video on the 2000 Dodge Durango that you can use for reference.
