This harness gives you the standard 4-flat connection that handles running lights, turn signals, and brake lights. It’s the go-to configuration for small to mid-size trailers and a reliable way to keep your trailer lights working right every time you tow.
With the integrated converter, power is properly managed between the vehicle and trailer circuits. That means fewer wiring issues and consistent lighting response down the line. The converter helps protect sensitive vehicle electronics while keeping trailer signals clear and stable.

Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with a 4-pole flat trailer connector. This product fits a 1996 to 2000 Dodge Caravan, Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town and Country, Plymouth Voyageur and Grand Voyageur, and a 1998 to 2003 Dodge Durango. It's going to provide a 4-way flat connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer signal lights. Now, the unit is compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters, but adapters are sold separately, and it's going to come with a dust cap for the 4-way flat connector, that way, you can cover up the connection points when your plug's not in use. The black box right here, this is going to be the included taillight converter. It's going to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer's. The unit connects quickly and easily.
You don't have to worry about cutting or splicing any wires, just locate the connection points behind the taillights and plug in the connectors on the harness to the connection points on your vehicle. Again, this is a custom-fit wiring harness, so the plugs on the harness are going to match up perfectly with the ports on the vehicle, and it's going to feature the locking tabs, which is going to offer a really nice tight, secure connection. Once you have those connected, you can mount your converter box to an out of the way location with the included cable ties, and then once your installation is complete, the 4-way connector's actually going to be stowed beneath the vehicle near the trailer hitch. We do want to recommend using a mounting bracket to help keep the connector secure and easily accessible. Mounting brackets are sold separately. It's also recommended that you use a small amount of the included grease on all your electrical connections, like the plugs on the vehicle and the 4-pole connector itself. That grease is designed to help prevent corrosion to the connection points.
