Brake Controller Recommendation for 2015 Ford Escape with Factory 4-Way
Published 08/11/2017 >
Question:
I dont see the vehicle harness under the dash on my 2015 Ford Escape. There is a plug at the brake pedal, but it is plugged in and in use already see attached picture. Also, there are only four wires on the existing flat four plug at the back of the vehicle see attached picture. Shouldnt there be seven if I am adding brakes? In other words, it looks like a harness with a plug in port for the vehicle is not an option on my Ford Escape even though it has a towing package. Im assuming Ill need a kit and do the wiring myself in order to convert from a flat four plug to a round seven prong plug. Does that sound correct?

For what you described we do have a brake controller situation but it will not involve any of the factory wiring of the 2015 Ford Escape aside from the factory 4-way at the rear of it.
You would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is our best selling brake controller because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup.
