The M10 x 1.50 CL 10.9 fasteners will need to be torqued down to 45 lbs-ft and the 7/16" 59 lb-ft for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13103. This is in line 8 of the instructions, we usually do not answer that question because companies like Curt often update and improve their torque specs, so always check the attached current specifications for the most recent recommendations in case they have been updated. This is a confirmed fit for your 2009 Mercedes-Benz R-Class. I have attached an installation video for you to check out as well.
If you plan on pulling a trailer or using an accessory that needs lighting, I recommend installing the Tekonsha ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness w/ 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector and Installation Kit # 119250KIT which I have attached a sample installation video on a 2013 BMW X5 for you.
To finish your towing setup, if that is what you plan on doing, you will also need a ball mount and a hitch ball. I recommend looking into one of our ball mount kits, like part # 989900, which will give you some flexibility for the Rise and Drop of a ball mount. To ensure that you get a ball mount with the correct Rise or Drop, I have attached a helpful article that you can check out.
