Video Transcript for Review of Valcrum Trailer Bearings Races Seals Caps - Caps - VA95JR

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Valcrum Universal Threaded Aluminum Oil Bath or Grease Cap for your Dexter 9,000 to 10,000-pound General Duty Axles. This part here replaces the oil bath, grease cap, the O-ring, and even the plug on the Dexter 9,000 to 10,000-pound General Duty Axles, and the Dexter 13 G Drums that are manufactured after July of 2009. This part here will include the cap itself, the watertight O-ring seal, and the magnetic vent plug. This is a direct replacement for the Dexter oil caps part number 21-88 or the K71-704-00.

This cap can function as either an oil bath or a grease cap. Now, we mentioned the plug, it's a magnetic vent plug. And what's nice about that, if I flip it over, you see right in the middle, it has a rare-earth magnet installed in it. This will attract damaging metal particles, so it helps identify problems before they become critical. The body on this cap is a nice aluminum alloy body.

It has a black e-coat finish to it to resist corrosion. And the lens right up here is a clear viewing lens, so it'll let you quickly check your oil level. Over here, you can see, is the easy-to-access side port that'll let you fill or drain lubricant without removing the cap. And as we mentioned, the O-ring will provide a nice tight seal. It is a threaded cap, so it will install easily.

But that should do it for the review on the Valcrum Universal Threaded Aluminum Oil Bath or Grease Cap for the Dexter 9,000 to 10,000-pound General Duty Axles.

  • Threaded Grease Cap With 3.5" Outer Diameter
Hi Jeff; we only have one threaded grease cap that matches that outer diameter. The Valcrum Universal Threaded Aluminum Oil Bath or Grease Cap # VA95JR. This is designed to replace Dexter 21-88 or K71-704-00 oil caps on #13G drums manufactured after 7/2009. If you have Dexter hubs you should be able to find a part number stamped into them. You could also identify your axle and potentially the hubs using the axle tag.
