Replacement Mounting Brackets for Thule Adventurer Cargo Box

Question:
I have a 2015 Toyota Highlander and a Thule adventurerabout 20 years old. The cargo carrier has u shaped hardware, that is not wide enough to go around the Toyota factory crossbars. Do you have hardware you would recommend? Maybe the Th04997? Will this work with the factory crossbars which have a curvature?

I recommend picking up the Quick Mount Replacement QM3, part # TH04997 that you took a look at. Your factory crossbars will measure 2-5/8 inches at most and the QM3 kit has a total available space of 3-3/4 inches inside of the mounting brackets for your crossbars. Foam pads will help the new mounting kit have increased stability and protect your crossbars.
The curvature can be dealt with through tightening the mounting bolts to correctly pressure the kit's new feet onto the bars, with the inner bolts being tightened further than the outer bolts.
I confirmed with Thule that this is indeed a fit for your 2015 Toyota Highlander.
I've included a video review that goes over how to put the kit together and shows the pieces individually.
