What Gauge Wire is Used on Tekonsha Brake Controllers?

Question:
On the Tekonsha controllers, what gauge wire do they use? Mine is all 10 gauge under the truck but it would be pointless if the controller only uses 14 gauge. Also I have an older brake controller that some one has cut off the flat plastic connector. Do you sell the plastic connector and pins for both sides male and female so I can use my own 10 gauge wiring to make my own harness. The adapter harnesses around here are not even 12 gauge! Thanks 1984 F250 diesel.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Tekonsha uses 10 & 12 gauge wire on their brake controllers. They use 10-gauge for the 12V and output and-12 gauge for the red and white.. We do not have replacement female-end connectors. We do offer the replacement male connectors for Tekonsha controllers, part # 20127,
If you decide to install all new 7-way and brake controller wiring, I recommend our Universal Brake Controller Installation Kit, part # ETBC7.
If you decide to go with a new controller, I've provided links to 2 of the most popular brake controllers for your 1984 Ford F250: the Tekonsha Voyager, part # 39510-20127, and the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, part # 90195. Both are proportion controllers, but the Prodigy P3 has all of the bells and whistles. If you tow often, I would definitely recommend spending a little more on to get the additional benefits of the digital display, automatic leveling and 360 degree vertical mounting plane.
I've also provided some links to articles I think may be helpful to you.
