In order to choose the correct replacement hubs for your 1998 Triton XT Trailer, you will first want to pull the existing hubs on the trailer to check for the bearing numbers. These should be stamped onto the bearings themselves. If you cannot locate the numbers, you can also take a few measurements along the trailer spindle where the bearings will sit. I have attached an image that points out where these measurements should be taken. I recommend using a digital caliper like # PTW80157, as the measurements will need to be as exact as possible.
You will also want to determine the bolt pattern on your existing hubs to ensure a correct fit. I have attached an article that explains how to measure your bolt pattern.
For example, the etrailer.com Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-1K is designed for 2,000 pound axles and has a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern. It uses the # L44643 inner and outer bearing and the # 34823 grease seal.
I have included some additional articles on trailer hubs and bearings along with a link that will take you to our available selection that you can look through.
