T250 transit connect 2016 how hard for hook up is there a plug in harness under the dash

Expert Reply:
For the 2016 model year Ford had both a Transit Connect and a Transit T250 but in either case there isn't a wiring harness to plug in a brake controller so one will have to be hardwired in. It is not all that difficult at all; just a lot of running wires to various places on the vehicle.
With the Transit Connect you would first need to install a 4-Way # C56327 (if you don't have one already) and then install # ETBC7 which will add the 7-Way and provide the wiring for a brake controller. I have included some links that show and explain the ETBC7 installation for you. Those links will also help with some parts of the 22114 installation.
If the vehicle already has a 7-Way trailer connector then you will just need wiring kit # 5506 and you can follow the relevant parts of the ETBC7 links.
For a brake controller I recommend the P3 # 90195 because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable. Plus it has many features making it more user-friendly such as easy to understand diagnostics.
