Recommended Brake Controller For 2016 Land Rover Range Rover With Factory 7-Way

Question:

Obviously this is a different product than the electric trailer brakes I get for my fleet. I really am asking for my personal vehicle. So, how does it work? Do I need to get one for my boat trailer and a separate one for my utility trailer? Would it replace the need to have a electric brake controller inside the vehicle? Thanks.

There is not a confirmed fit wiring harness adapter for your 2016 Land Rover Range Rover. The brake controller that many people use is a plug and play option, but it is not the traditional mount to your dash assembly. It is the Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180.

The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller does replace the need for a brake controller inside the vehicle. It uses the tail light function of your trailer wiring to identify when you hit the brakes in your vehicle. On top of that, there is a internal sensor that automatically adjusts trailer braking based on deceleration of tow vehicle. It still allows you the manual override for additional braking in the remote. You can transfer the remote easily between vehicles, but I recommend getting 2 units if you will regularly be towing 2 different trailers.
