Yes, you can use trailer wiring harness # 119250KIT for your 2017 Volkswagen Golf GTI. This harness taps into the vehicle tail light wiring and gets the power for the trailer lights from the vehicle battery rather than trying to pull power through the tail light wiring. Installation instructions are included and I have linked them for you on this page.
