How Should the Fulton Boat Guide # FGB1500100 be Spaced on my Boat Trailer

Published 03/24/2011

Question:

I have a set of the tall boat guides mounted on my trailer that have the PVC pipe with cap on them to float when trailer is in water, it is a 23 Grady White and the distance between the poles and boat seem to give it to much room for boat to drift sidways from wind blowing thus not allowing a center mounter mount on running boards. Hoiw close should the poles be to side of boat?

These Fulton Boat Guide, part # FGB1500100, are a visual guide to help you know if you are centered as you are putting your boat on your trailer. The function is not to physically keep your boat centered on your trailer.

I would put these just a few to the side of your boat on your trailer, evenly spaced, so you could use them as a visual aide to know when you are actually centered on your trailer.

It sounds like you might have your trailer too far into the water if you have your 23 foot Grady White Boat up onto the trailer enough for it to be attached to your trailer and your boat is still able to float from side to side.
