Question:
Is a relay needed for any hitch receiver for a 2008 Acura RDX? I see it mentioned for item 13536, a class III 2inch w/ 300 Pound Tongue Weight. The relay is needed to activate the tow package wiring circuit.

If you plan on towing a trailer with your 2008 Acura RDX, then a relay may be needed to activate the towing package on your vehicle. The relay completes the wiring circuit to allow you to install a trailer wiring harness, like part # 56008, to allow you to run power and control trailer lights.
The relay can be found at an Acura dealer or maybe at an auto parts store.
If you are only needing the Curt Trailer Hitch, # 13536, for an accessory like a bike rack, then you will not need to install the relay.
