Question:
I have looked in the manual for a 2013 Chevy Captiva Sport, 6 spd automatic, and no where does it state it can be flat towed. All research indicates that it can be flat towed.

I reviewed the owner's manual for your 2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport and would agree with you in that your vehicle is capable of being flat towed. However, the two wheel drive version will need to be flat towed with all four wheels down whereas the all wheel drive model will need to be towed with only the rear two wheels down using a tow dolly.
For a two wheel drive model you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, wiring harness, and supplemental braking system. For the base plate kit, I recommend using the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit part # BX3332 as it has removable arms for a more aesthetically pleasing look while not in use. For a tow bar setup, I recommend the Blue Ox Alpha Tow Bar part # BX7380 because of its easy to use design and incorporated safety cables. You will also need a wiring harness such as the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267 and a supplemental braking system such as the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System part # SM99251.
You will also want to use the Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass part # RM76511 to prevent your battery from draining when being flat towed and a Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit part # RM-751476 so your braking system's RV monitor will show when your vehicles brakes are activated.
For a 4 wheel drive model, I recommend using the Roadmaster Tow Dolly with Electric Brakes part # RM-2050-1 as this is our top of the line tow dollies with integrated brakes and tow lights.
I have attached a video review of each product I have recommended for your viewing.
