Installing a Hitch on a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SL with Motion Liftgate Sensor
Updated 06/08/2017 | Published 06/06/2017 >
Question:
I prefer this hitch because it will be conceal behind the bumper, however, this might hit/touch the relay and sensor for the motion liftgate of 2017 Nissan Pathfinder SL. Can you confirm that this will not hit/touch the sensor/relay? Is it possible to show a picture of the hitch attached to an SL trim and exactly how far will the bar be from the relay/sensor? I have attached the picture of the relay/sensor.

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch, # C13309, is confirmed to fit your 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. My contact at Curt confirmed with me that the hitch will not interfere with the relay that is located at under the bumper.
The hands free lift gate feature will still be enabled after installation of the Curt hitch. However if you're trying to activate it with your foot directly under the hitch receiver opening it probably won't work. Just keep your foot to the side of the receiver tube and it will operate just fine.
Installation of this Curt hitch does require you to trim the bumper fascia on the 2017 Pathfinder. The attached instructions will explain how to perform this on your vehicle's bumper.
