Do Loadstar 185/80D13 Sized Trailer Tires Need to be Balanced
Updated 05/02/2017 | Published 05/01/2017 >
Question:
I am looking for some replacement wheels and tires for a 2,250 pound popup camper. I want to make sure I install them properly to avoid any sway as much as possible. Do these wheels need to be balanced once I receive them? Im somewhat new to camper wheel setup, but I dont believe I usually see the wheels balanced on the popups. Thanks.

Trailer tires do not need to be balanced like passenger tires on a vehicle do. Our tire and wheel combos are balanced by mounting the high heavy spot on the tire so that it is aligned with the low light spot on the wheel. They can be balanced at a tire shop if you'd like but it isn't necessary.
The tire and wheel combo you referenced, Loadstar # AM3S331 is a 185/80D13 bias tire that has a Load Range D. It's rated up to 1,725 pounds at 65 psi. Trailer tires should always be inflated to their maximum psi when the tire is cold.
The wheel has a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern.
