I checked the owner's manual for your 2017 Honda Fit with manual transmission and found that it can in fact be flat towed. The manual does list the steps required before flat towing which I will describe, however I recommend also checking your manual to confirm this process.
The owner's manual lists these steps to take before flat towing: Shift to Neutral, Release the parking brake, turn the ignition switch to ACCESSORY - make sure the steering wheel does not lock. Then turn off all electrical devices.
In order to flat tow your vehicle, you will need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution and a supplemental braking system.
For a base plate kit that is confirmed to work with your Honda Fit, I recommend the Roadmaster EZ4 Base Plate Kit # RM-521569-5. The brackets will install on your vehicle to provide attachment points for the tow bar. This system offers a great hidden bracket design that provides a nice clean look when compared to standard brackets.
Then for a tow bar that mounts to a motorhome, I recommend the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520. This tow bar has stainless steel, telescoping arms that automatically lock into place and a 6,000 pound weight capacity. For safety cables I recommend the RoadMaster 68 Inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables # RM-643. These are also rated for 6,000 pounds and offer the required extra security for your tow system.
Next you will need a wiring kit to connect your RV's lighting to your Honda Fit's lighting. For this I recommend the Optronics Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights # TL21RK. These lights can magnetically connect to the rear of your Fit and will plug in at the rear of your motorhome. I like this system because it allows you to have the necessary tow lights without needing to cut or splice diode kits into your Honda Fit's factory wiring.
Then for a supplemental braking system, I really like the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System # BLU37TR. This is a great proportional braking system that will physically press down on the brake pedal inside your Honda Fit at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your RV.
Lastly, you will most likely need a high-low adapter in order to make your tow bar level when connected. I have attached a helpful article on this subject as well as a link that will take you to our available selection.
I have also attached an article on the subject of flat towing for you to review.
