Providing Power to the Blue Ox Patriot from the RV to Flat Tow a Jeep Wrangler

I am currently looking for a used 2012 - 2015 Jeep Rubicon that I will flat tow behind my motorhome. I will use a tow bar I will install an after-market bumper with a winch and the Patriot for the supplemental braking considered after reading all of your reviews. How can I use the 12V power from the MH to provide power to the Patriot unit? I have both a 7 pole and a 4 pole straight connectors on the MH. Thanks

The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR operates on 12 volt power and can be connected using a 12 volt outlet kit # RM-9332.
Also, to power the Jeep's lights you can use the diode kit # RM-15267. This includes the cord that will stretch between the Jeep and motorhome using the 7-way connector on the back of the coach. In addition you'll need a brake light relay # RM-88400 to keep the Jeep's brake signal from overriding the RV's turn signals.
In addition, if the Jeep you decide on is a 2014 it requires the battery to be disconnected to flat tow. in order to make this easier use the automatic battery disconnect # RM-766. The 2014 model also needs a stop light switch # RM-751452 so you're notified when the Jeep's brakes are applied.
Once you know the exact year of Jeep and the exact aftermarket bumper you'll be able to determine the base plate kits that are available. I wouldn't pick out a tow bar until then because not all tow bars work with all base plates.
