Do The Sliding Hitches Work While Moving Backwards As Well As Forwards?
Updated 01/09/2017 | Published 01/07/2017 >
Question:
Do the two recommended hitches, Demco Hijacker and Curt Q24 work both while moving forward and backwards. Some conflicting reviews regarding backing up.

The Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 18,000 lbs, # DM8550034 and the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider - Dual Jaw - 24,000 lbs, # C16546 are both great hitches. The Demco Autoslide moves as needed automatically to meet the needs of the turn whether going forward or backwards. The Curt Q24 has a lock to keep the hitch in either a pulling location or a turning location. For backing up, I recommend the Q24 be locked into the setting to the rear of the truck to allow you greater turning clearance. The Q24 does not automatically adjust like the Demco Hijacker Autoslider. It needs to be manually locked in the position you desire for operation.
