Backing into a tight site or making a sharp corner doesn’t have to mean climbing in and out of the truck anymore. This hitch automatically slides up to 14" toward the tailgate when you turn, then glides back toward the cab as you straighten out. The low-friction plates move smoothly on metal tubes with no gears or small parts to break, so every turn feels steady and predictable.
With a gross towing weight rating of 20,000 lbs and a 5,000-lb vertical load limit, this hitch is made for serious fifth-wheel towing. The precisely laser-cut, wraparound jaw locks tight around the king pin for a solid, secure connection that cuts down on rattle compared to slide-bar jaws. Tested to SAE J2638 standards and finished with black powder coat and e-coat steel for corrosion resistance, it’s a setup that feels rock solid mile after mile.
When you back in and drop the king pin into place, the jaw closes and the handle locks automatically. That wraparound single-hook jaw design gives you confidence that you’re hitched right without extra steps. You can even add your own padlock to secure the trailer to the hitch when parked. It’s a straightforward, dependable system that makes getting ready to roll faster and easier.
When it’s time to use your truck bed for something else, this hitch breaks down into manageable pieces. The base weighs 187 lbs overall, and the removable hitch plate comes off separately at 43 lbs. That split design makes it easier to lift out or store without special tools or extra help so you can switch between towing and hauling with less hassle.
Every pivot point matters when you’re towing heavy. The dual-articulating head moves front-to-back and side-to-side so the trailer tracks more smoothly over uneven roads. It helps reduce chucking and strain through the connection point, keeping both truck and trailer steady for a quieter ride on long hauls.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this PullRite custom installation kit with the base rails for your fifth wheel trailer hitches, has a 20,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this is a custom fit part. This is designed to fit the 2019 and newer Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks that have the 6-1/2 foot bed. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle, and I'll show if this will work for your application. Now this installation kit, this will let you mount your fifth wheel trailer hitch in the bed of your truck.
The mounting brackets which have installed onto the rails, these will install beneath your truck bed and they provide the attachment points for your above bed base rails to connect to. And the base rails is what'll provide the necessary mounting points for your fifth wheel hitch. Now the brackets over here, these are custom fit mounting brackets, they're designed to mount to existing holes in your vehicle's frame. This will help minimize drilling and measuring, reduces installation time, and it even avoids known obstacles along your truck's frame. Now on this PullRite system, what I like about it, one of the best features on it is they have these built-in tabs right here that are located just below the slotted bolt holes.
And I wanted to show you, we're gonna zoom in so I can show you a little bit closeup of it, might be still hard to see, but if you look right down here, there's a little extra piece of metal. And what those tabs do is you can bend them down and you can put the nut, you can slide the nut in here. When you go put your bolt in, you slide the nut in there and then bend that tab back up and it'll hold that nut in place. So when you go to install the bolt in there, you don't have to try to access it. Lots of times when you're installing these mounting brackets in your base rails, there's not enough room to access that and it gets to be a hassle.
So what they've tried to do is eliminate that by using these tabs. And I wanna try to show you the underside. If I pop up the sensor, that's what the underside looks like. You can see how the tab right here sort of has a cutout in it that'll hold that nut in place. So when you put your bolt in, it'll hold it to tighten it down.
Very nice feature to have. Now, this kit is compatible with PullRite, B&W Patriot, CURT, Demco, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Husky, and even the Reese above bed fifth wheel hitches. This parts are a black powder coated steel. They are corrosion resistant. It does include everything shown here on the table. The two base rails, the custom mounting brackets, all the hardware you need for installation, and even nice installation instructions that'll describe how this all goes together. Now these parts are made in the USA. And again, the gross towing weight capacity is 20,000 pounds. But that's gonna do it for a review on this PullRite custom installation kit with the base rails for your fifth wheel trailer hitches.
