Question:
How do you grease the gears? I have a 2016 Grand Design Reflection with auto level and the left front jack is making a horrible noise.

The legs need to be greased every so often. Unfortunately, to do this, you often have to dismantle the legs because there is a drive screw that raises and lowers the leg. Sometimes you can simply extend the landing legs as far as possible and coat the exposed surfaces with spray lubricant or grease like # L11390. It is important to keep that drive screw functioning or the legs won't work properly. That screw if it gets dry can seize up slowly and cause a horrible noise like you mentioned and eventually can bend or brake if it doesn't completely freeze up. Sometime the noise is from that threaded rod that runs the length of the leg already being bent. Some landing gear have a removable access from the top to help with lubrication, but not all do. Most electric landing gear is lubricated at the factory and doesn't require further lubrication.
Unfortunately there isn't a grease zerk on most landing gear to help you maintain it, so when maintenence is needed it is a bigger job to do.
Gear boxes are often not meant to be taken apart. You can just replace the gear box itself as needed.
