Recommendation For Snow Tire Chains On A 2016 Nissan Frontier

Updated 11/30/2016 | Published 11/29/2016

Question:

hi, i went through your chart entering the year, make and model and my tires are not listed. I have P265/70r16 but you only show 265/70r16. I know they are a passenger tire and not a LT for a nissan frontier but can I use chains for 265/70r16 on mine that have P265???

According to the owner's manual, Nissan states that SAE Class S tires chains can only be used on the 2016 Nissan Frontier. The Class S chains are designed to allow vehicles that have clearance issues between the Tire and the wheel well of their vehicle.

The P or LT rating on the tire is like you mentioned to distinguish between a passenger or light truck tire. Some of the differences between the two ratings are in tread design, the load capacity of the tire, and mileage rating. Tire chain manufacturers keep these tire features when fit guiding their products.

I recommend the Titan S chains # TC2324 which has a superior diamond pattern, OR the Titan cables set # TC2028 if you have tight clearance and only moderate snow.

Titan recommends using a Rubber Adjusters # TCMA2 with these chain cables. These adjusters help maintain the tension on the chains use on the wider tread tires.
