The Curt Class III Round Tube Receiver Hitch # 13160 is compatible with your 2001 Jeep Cherokee and requires no drilling or welding for installation. It is rated for 5000 lbs., however you will still be limited to the towing capacity of your Cherokee which, from my research, is only 2000 lbs. You will want to verify with your owners manual just how much weight you Jeep can tow.
The Tekonsha Wiring Harness # 118354 is custom-fit for you Cherokee, and plugs in behind an interior trim panel in the rear cargo area on the driver's-side. You will need to remove the spare tire and a side panel to find the harness to plug into but once that's complete it's ready to go.
I've attached installation videos of the hitch and wiring on a 2001 Cherokee for you.
Also, the Ball Mount Kit # 989900 includes 2 ball mounts with different rise and drop measurements, both a 2 inch and a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
