What Size Staples are Recommended for Installing Bunk Board Carpet on Boat Trailer

We typically try to use 1/2 inch stainless steel staples when we install the CE Smith Deluxe Marine-Grade Carpeting, # CE11330, but 3/8 inch staples will work too. I would not go much shorter than the 3/8 inch staples because you don't want them to work their way out over time. I strongly recommend using stainless steel staples if possible. They will last much longer because they provide the best rust resistance.
I would also recommend uses a hammer to drive the staples all the way into the boards. Especially in areas were there may be extra layers of carpet.
