How to reinsert ball into socket of cargo cover hinge

I went out in our warehouse and opened a Thule cargo box and snapped the hinge off of the ball socket and back on and it did take some pressure to get it to snap off and on to the ball. To get it to go back on to the ball you might even need to tap it on with a hammer.
I am including a link to a video review of the Thule Ascent cargo box and at the 1 minute and 4 second mark of the video it will show the hinge snapped onto the top and bottom brackets of the cargo box.
