Question:
Are there any reasons why grade 5 fasteners are supplied rather than grade 8? Great job on the write up Amanda M

Helpful Expert Reply:
Using Grade 8 hardware with the Demco Trailer Coupler w/ 5-Position Adjustable Channel # DM6125-81 most likely would be just fine, but in some cases Grade 5 is actually preferred. Reason being that Grade 8 does have a very high tensile strength but because of that it can be very brittle.
Demco tested and found that Grade 5 is perfect for the # DM6125-81.
I will pass what you said on to Amanda!
