Question:

I keep seeing all of these Thule kayak rack accessories say that they are only rated for up to 75 lbs. I have a 95 lb fishing kayak. Is there anything that Thule makes that will be safe to load a heavier boat onto?

I have an excellent recommendation for you. Take a look at the Rhino-Rack J-style kayak carrier # S512. This carrier has a weight capacity of 99 pounds! It fits round, aero/elliptical and most factory crossbars. Be sure to also check the roof/roof rack capacity on your vehicle to ensure that it too is rated high enough. I have linked a video review of this carrier for you.

With the except of the Stacker, # TH830, the Thule carriers are rated at 75 pounds maximum. The Stacker is different because the weight of the kayak(s) would be on the roof rack crossbars only and not on the Stacker itself. It is also limited to kayaks up to 10 feet long. If the kayak is longer it cannot be safely secured to the Stacker.
