Question:

I accidentally clicked the wrong base the part that hooks around the door jamb to the wrong tower. How do I un-click the base to get it out? Thule Kit 145107. Thanks.

It's pretty easy to remove that clip. Hold the roof rack foot in one hand, with the outboard side of the foot facing you. Grasp the bottom of the metal foot clip and push down on it (so it would go toward the car if it was installed) while pulling the clip away from the roof rack foot. The clip will slide free of the foot.

I bought a used Thule EVO roof rack system. I bought the RIGHT fit kit but I can't get the old clips out to place my new ones in. Seem like once a fit kit is clipped in, it's forever, any videos to help take it apart?

@MikeL I have this same problem. I’ve changed my car and can reuse the same clamp but need to change the kit. Old Thule Wingbar Evo 127cm Thule Evo Clamp Footpack 7105 Thule Kit 5042 New Thule Kit 5027 I can’t work out how I change the Thule Kit from 5042 to 5027.

@Jodie - I consider myself fairly adept mechanically but this had me flustered. Even Thule failed to answer my question directly or offer a video. Of all the endless supply of installation videos, there is only that one guy who has a model with the latch lever showing a fit kit swap. Currently at home sick, I am not driving down to REI, so returned to the video hoping to see something that may be in common with our version. Well, down in the comments not far is a link to a YouTube short someone kindly posted. For the sake of others, checkout that video and look for the link to the short in the comments. As mentioned by another, the bit of twist is the trickiest part. It takes fair amount of pressure and I found that it is also quite awkward to hold. I found the longer clamping bars easier to grab. I made sure my bolts were on the looser side to allow enough movement. Basically, 2 hooks at the top end (bar end) latch onto a pivot pin. By pushing the clamp towards the top of foot, the hooks move clear or the pivot pin, but it takes some adept gentle twisting/lifting towards the outer face of foot for the hook to actually clear enough so they don’t just re-attach to the pivot pin. There’s not a lot of wiggle room but it does work. Took me several tries with the shorter clamps since there is less leverage to twist/move away from the pivot. If I feel better when the new kit arrives, I’ll try to post a video on YouTube.
