Replacement Light Bulbs for Horse Trailer Clearance Lights

Updated 02/16/2025 | Published 07/07/2016

Question:

Im not sure if the correct name is running lights thats what we call them or clearance lights. Im referring to the lights on the top sides of my horse trailer. Are the bulbs standard sizes? Can you tell me which bulb I need to buy? I may also need a bulb for the turn signal on the fender. Again, which bulb? Thanks.

For replacement bulbs for your horse trailer's upper amber clearance lights you can remove one lens to gain access to the bulb to see what type/size it is since there are many types available. I linked our page for replacement bulbs that will make is easy to find the correct bulb number. The common bulb types likely to be found in a clearance light are the 1157 and 921 bulbs.

We offer both standard incandescent bulbs like # A921B as well as high-efficiency LED-types that use less power and make less heat.

@Keith that really depends on the light. I would expect the lens to pop off so you can access the bulb and mounting screws. Some lights are sealed so it wouldn't be as easy to get into.
