Whats the maximum weight the receiver can handle when equipped with a cargo carrier which itself is rated at 500 lbs?

The Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver # SH27FR for your 20121 Volvo XC90 is rated for up to 600lbs of tongue weight. With a 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier # 63153 rated for up to 500lbs that is the most you will be able to load on the carrier. This particular carrier weighs 61lbs giving you a weight of 561lbs on the receiver which is under its 600lb capacity. You will need to verify the weight capacity of your Volvo as the weight of the Receiver # SH27FR (45lbs), the Carrier # 63153 (61lbs) and any other cargo being added inside your Volvo will all contribute to its maximum vehicle weight(GVWR).
We do have the Towing Kit w/ Ball Mount and Trailer Wiring # SH36FR you can add to this receiver if you will need to do any trailer towing. Or we have it as a Kit # SH27FRT with the receiver and wiring in one.
