Best Hitch and Trailer Wiring for 2021 Volvo XC90

Question:

I am purchasing a 2021 Volvo XC90 Recharge T8. I would like to have a Stealth hitch part #SH27FRT installed. 2 questions... #1 will this fit the Volvo? #2 will I need to have the Volvo reprogrammed after to recognize the trailer lights.. if so I am going to include that in the deal. Does this process have a specific name? Thx for your help.

Yes the Stealth Hitch # SH27FRT fits your 2021 Volvo XC90 Recharge T8. You will also need to take your XC90 to your local Volvo dealership so a technician can reprogram the computer to send the proper signal with your new wiring. This is a fairly common practice with complex wiring and computer systems in newer vehicles. This process is referred to flashing or reprogramming the computer to turn on the tow package.

The Stealth Hitch is going to look great on your XC90. Being able to remove the receiver tube or ball mount when not in use is a really nice feature to get that factory look back. One thing to remember is when towing a trailer it is required to use the ball mount that comes with this kit.
