Will Roller part # YR12243-5 Fit on Roller Bracket # CE10305G
Question:
1. Will a 12inch Yates Side Guide Roller code YR12243-5 fit into the 12inch bracket code CE10305G and still spin? If not can one cut 1/2inch off the end of the roller without damage to the roller? Or should I get a shorter roller? 2. Will a 5/8inch shaft code CE10727A fit into the 5/8inch hole down the center of the 12inch roller YR12243-5? If so, will the roller still spin on the shaft or will it be tight so that the shaft just spins inside the holes in the 12inch bracket code CE10305G? 3. Can the 12inch Yates Side Guide Roller code YR12243-5 be used as a horizontal bottom roller to support a 500 pound boat? 4. What is the distance between the outside of the 6x12inch plate on the 12inch bracket code CE10305G vertically up to the top of an installed 12inch roller code YR12243-5? 5. What is the distance between the center of the 5/8inch holes and closest outside edge of the 6x12inch plate on a 12inch bracket CE10305G? 6. Do you sell the 5/8inch shaft and Pal Nuts code CE10727A in stainless steel? If not, will it rust, jam and become useless?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The 12 inch roller part # YR12243-5 that you referenced is designed to fit the CE Smith Panel Bracket # CE10305G. You would just need the roller shaft part # CE10727A which comes with pal nuts and you would be set. There isn't a stainless steel version of this available but this will resist corrosion well since it is galvanized. The roller will spin easily and would work well.
This would work well for a roller on a boat trailer for a 500 lb boat.
4-1/4 inches is the distance from the mounting flange on the bracket to the tallest portion of the roller when installed.
