Question:

I recently ordered and received a 12 inch x 2 inch Yates Rubber trailer Roller with a 1/2 shaft. Didnt realize that was the end of the shaft to fit Axel Caps. Have questions: 1 is there any other rollers that measure 2 inch dia / 3 inch long / with a 5/8 inch shaft? 2 if I order the Yates YR12243 roller thats 12 inch long with a 5/8 inch shaft can that be cut to 3 inch lengths? The rollers Im trying to replace are gray in color and are very hard. The trailer is old and being reconstructed

Currently the roller that we have that has a 2 inch diameter is the CE Smith Side Guide Roller # CE29562, but it is for a 1/2" shaft so it is not compatible for your setup.

I spoke with my contact at Yates and he said that the Side Guide Roller # YR12243-5 that you mentioned can indeed be cut to fit your specifications and that it is done all of the time. The most effective tool to use is a radial saw.
