Question:

How does it support both? Is the pin only 3/4inch in diameter? Is the adapter 3/4inch in diameter with a 3/4inch in pin with a cylindrical spacer ed in the bumper to fill in to 1?

The part of the adapter that attaches to the D-rings will have a fixed size pin; either 3/4 inch for # RM-035 or 1 inch for # RM-035-1. The other ends of these adapters attach to the tow bars. So neither one of the adapters will work with both 3/4 and 1 inch D-ring mount holes.
