Question:
I have a 2012 Nissan Versa, 4 door, Sedan. I want to carry my 250cc dirt bike about 30 minutes one way once a week. Ive been searching up on your website but havent been able to make the decision yet. Can you tell me what hitch and which motorcycle carrier combination would work best in my case. Very thankful for the help! best regards,

I have a solution for you, but we do not have any hitch mount motorcycle carriers that will allow you to carry your dirt bike with your 2012 Nissan Versa.
All of the hitch-mount motorcycle carriers we offer are designed to fit 2 inch trailer hitches. The only trailer hitches available for your Versa are Class I trailer hitches with 1-1/4 inch hitch receivers. A Class I hitch, and your Versa, won't offer the necessary tongue weight capacity to carry your dirt bike on a hitch mount carrier.
In order to carry your dirt bike, the best solution is to install a trailer hitch and wiring harness, and use a small trailer for transporting your dirt bike. The trailer hitch I recommend for your Versa is the Curt Class I Round Tube Receiver Hitch # C11256. This trailer hitch will not require any drilling for installation. When towing with this hitch, the drawbar the manufacturer recommends is # C45520. For a 1-7/8 inch diameter hitch ball you can use # C40001 or for a 2 inch diameter hitch ball # C40018. The Curt # C11256 offers 2,000 pounds towing capacity with 200 pounds tongue weight capacity. I have linked the installation instructions for you.
If you need a wiring harness for your Versa, you'll want to use the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Specific Wiring Harness # HM11143704. This harness will install behind the taillights of your Versa, and the converter's power wire will need to be ran to the vehicle battery. The installation instructions for this wiring harness are also linked to this page.
I have attached some help articles on the parts needed to tow a trailer, as well as tips on towing a trailer for you. It is also a good idea to check your owner's manual for the towing capacity, or any towing limitations, of your Versa.
