Which Supplemental Braking System Should be Used for Flat Towing with a Vehicle with Engine Brake

My Rv has an engine brake. I wish to install the brakemaster system. Or should I consider another braking method for the toad?

Expert Reply:
The Brakemaster like the part # RM-9160 is designed for air or air over hydraulic tow vehicle braking systems. Your engine brake would not be the only type of brakes that you have so based on the info you gave it's hard to say which Brakemaster you would need.
The part # RM-9060 is for tow vehicles with hydraulic brake systems instead.
Another easier to install option is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR. This system uses an inertia sensor to apply the same amount of braking power to the toad as what the tow vehicle is applying. It won't matter what style of brakes you have on your tow vehicle.
