Question:
I just bought a vehicle with a draw tite activator 2. My breaks seem really loose. Does this have something to do with it?

The braking power you feel when using your trailer brake controller will depend on the power setting selected on the controller as well as the chosen setting on the Sync control. The sync determines the level of braking aggressiveness by changing how quickly the unit sends the chosen power level to the brakes.
The other factor affecting braking force is the adjustment at each brake assembly. An electric drum brake like # AKEBRK-6R has a star wheel adjuster that can be adjusted using drum brake spoon # W80630. When the tension on the pads is correct you will be able to hear and feel slight drag on the drum as the wheel is rotated.
