Stromberg Carlson Wheel Chocks - Wheel Chock - Wheel Stabilizer - SC97MR Review

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Stromberg Carlson wheel chock stabilizer for tandem-axle trailers and RVs. This is for a quantity of one. Now this stabilizer will install between the tires on tandem axles, helps eliminate movement between the tires to prevent rocking of your trailer or RV when you're parked. This is adjustable, can be installed when the space in between the tires is from two inch minimum up to 17 inch maximum length. If you notice on the arms right here, they have these louvers and this is to help grip the tire tread to prevent slipping when you're installing this.

It does come with this nice included wrench here, makes it very easy to expand the chock. You just put it on there, crank it clockwise, and you can see it will expand it open. If you click it the other way, counter-clockwise, you can see it'll retract it, and what's nice, you can detach it when it's not being used. So basically, when you go to install this, what you wanna do is first adjust the length of the chock to a size that's close to the space in between your tires already, save you some time, cranking it, and then using this handle, you can see that's installed on this, place the chock between the two tires, and then with the included wrench, just go ahead and adjust the screw on the chock till it tightens up against both tires. And when you tighten it up, you want to apply enough torque to slightly deform the tire tread to hold this in place, but you do not wanna over-tighten.

Now also, if there's no room to access the socket head at the top, like you see right up here where I put the wrench on, this can be turned upside down and installed this way to access it at the bottom. You notice the stabilizers, a nice steel construction, makes it very durable. Has a nice coating on it for rust resistance. And we've mentioned, does have a handle on it to help hold it in position when installing it. A few specs again, this is applications for dual-axle trailer and RVs.

It is for quantity of one chock, with the wrench. Now we do also sell a kit that's available in a quantity of two of these, it's sold separately on our website, it's part number SC47MR. But that should do it for the review on the Stromberg Carlson wheel chock stabilizer for tandem axle trailers and RVs..
